Bengaluru youngsters negligent'; Over 32 lakh motorists found without care for helmet rule in 2019 Despite stringent traffic rules and special drives to book cases on helmet rule violation, the department found 20,35,519 two-wheeler motorists, and 12,92,374 motorists riding pillion, without a helmet in 2019.

According to data from the department, out of 766 people who died due to road accidents many were with two-wheelers and few victims were not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Despite all the measures to avoid road traffic accidents, in 2019, more that 82 lives were lost due to negligent driving and not wearing helmet, police state.


In order to send a message to youngsters who contribute more to the victim's list, the traffic department will hold special events in schools, colleges and workplaces to inculcate discipline among teenagers and youngsters as a part of its road safety week event between January 14 to January 21
