The new Jetta GLI is different in many ways from the past model. First, it is now built of the same MQB platform that is also used in the GTI but the Jetta wheelbase is two inches longer. It is based on the new Jetta, the largest car in the compact class. It differs from the regular Jetta because the GLI is the only Jetta model to come with standard independent suspension. Not only that, the Jetta sits lower on its suspension compared to the regular car. New is a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 228hp, up from the old version and the same as the GTI. The GLI in the Canadian market is only sold with one trim and it includes heated and cooled leather seats, digital dash, 8-inch display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The wheels are 18-inches and the one you see here has the 35 anniversary trim. The only things to choose when buying this all-new Jetta GLI is a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG dual clutch automatic and a driver's asset package for about $1000.
