Truth is not always easy to accept, but it is always easy to apply. For believers, Biblical truth includes the fact that when my faith is under pressure, it has the opportunity to grow. If you asked an orange or a piece of coal how much they enjoy extreme pressure, they would both likely complain, and yet, without their sacrifice under pressure there would be no orange juice for breakfast or diamond jewelry.
Likewise, Christians are promised lives of trial and pressure, but the rewards of persevering through them are literally eternal. The upcoming message to the church at Smyrna will inspire us to find value in pressure.
