As federal prison consultants, White Collar Advice has prepared more than 1,000 federal prison consulting clients for sentencing and federal prison. Some of those prison consulting clients include a number of defendants in the Varsity Blues College Cheating Case.
Our team is frequently asked:
What will life be like for Lori Loughlin in federal prison?
Why would Lori Loughlin take her case to trial? (We are not lawyers nor do we give legal advice at White Collar Advice). I can speculate because we have had so many clients go to federal prison, but we avoid giving legal advice.
Is it harder to serve time in federal prison if you are a celebrity?
What are some prison tips you have for white collar defendants?
Is there violence in a federal prison camp?
Is a women's camp harder than a men's camp?
What is life like after federal prison?
How do you prepare for federal prison?
And thousands more...The above questions are a few that come to mind.
Every defendant has a goal of leaving prison as early as possible. That makes sense, right? Yet as obvious as it seems some prisoners make decisions that only exacerbate their struggles. Those decisions could including using an iPhone in prison or not doing your prison job. The result could lead to time in the hole, transfer to a higher security prison and loss of good time.
Besides some prisoners making costly prison mistakes, some work under the mistaken premise that "there is nothing they can really do in prison, so why bother." The result is a lot of wasted or down time. By not using their time in prison wisely, they find is much harder on the other side.
Rather than ask if celebrity clients should engage in martial arts training (as I read Lori Loughlin was advised to do), defendants should ask: How will this impact my family or legacy? What steps can I take to rebound successfully and prove worthy of a second chance? Cracking that code makes more sense that martial arts training.
Yesterday, Fox and Friends invited me to participate in an episode to discuss these very topics. Amongst other things, we discussed how our team prepares people for challenges with the judicial system and prison. Fox expressed interest to learn more about the tools and techniques we offer to help people rebound successfully.
