Eight-time Olympic champion Jamaica Usain Bolt took part in a relay race during an opening of the New National Stadium in Tokyo on Saturday. The stadium, which was completed in November, is set to become the 2020 Olympic Games' main venue.

Bolt ran on the track in the combined relay event dubbed 'One Race', which featured Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Japanese track and field sprinter Aska Cambridge and Japanese para-alpine skier Momoka Muraoka were among the participants of the relay, among others.

An estimated 60,000 people attended the opening ceremony.

The 2020 Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo between July 24 and August 9, with some preliminary events starting on July 22.
