NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has welcomed Latvian President Egils Levits today at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The two leaders discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of NATO leaders in London.
“The foundations of NATO are strong, and we will ensure the Alliance is fit for the future,” said the Secretary General. He also praised Latvia’s strong commitment to the Alliance – from contributing to NATO’s mission in Afghanistan to investing more than 2% of GDP on defence and hosting a multinational NATO battlegroup in Ādaži.
"We both agree on NATO’s indispensable role in keeping Europe secure", Stoltenberg said during a press conference with the President of Latvia.
