We begin with Light and continue our review of Chapter 20 of Jesus, A New Covenant ACIM—a new means given by Jesus to look directly at and release desires to deny Divine Light. Jesus reminds us to start with the Light and ask him which miracles to perform as he is in charge of the Atonement. We ask the Jesus--a symbol of the Voice for God--to reveal to us whether there is a desire below our level of awareness to experience resistance to awakening as a means to delay recognition of Divine nature. If the Light reveals that there is a desire to experience delay we ask to be shown by Jesus if there is a perception that this desired experience has value- and thus is being used as an attempt to prove resistance is true and a means to salvation, and if so, ask for a miracles to change this perception. For each desire we ask Jesus to reveal to us the desire for the experience and admit the desire, so that it can be released to a miracle. In this session we looked with Jesus at the desire to experience darkness, the desire for an experience where “all that you are and to be who you are is sacrifice”, an experience in which “love seems denied to you and love fails you, all while denying it to yourself”, the desire for pain and illness of the body as a form of desire for the experience of self sacrifice in an attempt to win false salvation and love. We stay with the desire and listen for Jesus’ instruction to let us know when we are complete in looking at the desire.

In Jesus: A New Covenant ACIM, Jesus points to the power of direct experience of the Light within to clear denials of divinity. He shares that all the beliefs that are denials of Divinity are given in A Course in Miracles, and translates these beliefs in ANC to denials so that we can look directly with him. In Light Circles we focus on the Light first, and in this Light beliefs and desires that seem to deny awareness of unconditional Love, our true nature, are quickly cleared.
