সর্বকালের ভয়াবহ বন্যায় ভাসাচ্ছে লক্ষাধিক ঘরবাড়ি | Hundreds of homes flooded the ever present flood

দফায় দফায় ভারী বর্ষণ ও উজান থেকে নেমে আসা ঢল এবং বাঁধ ভেঙে গাইবান্ধার সার্বিক বন্যা পরিস্থিতির আরও অবনতি হয়েছে। প্লাবিত হয়েছে নতুন নতুন এলাকা। ঘাঘট ও ব্রহ্মপুত্রের পানির তোড়ে সোমবার আরও তিনটি বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ বাঁধের বিভিন্ন অংশ ভেঙে গেছে। এতে ৩১টি গ্রাম ও ওইসব এলাকার রাস্তাঘাট এবং ফসল নতুন করে পানিতে ডুবে গেছে। ফলে জেলার গাইবান্ধা সদর, সুন্দরগঞ্জ, সাঘাটা ও ফুলছড়ি উপজেলার ২৬টি ইউনিয়নের আড়াই লক্ষাধিক মানুষ পানিবন্দী হয়ে পড়েছে।
Gaibandha's overall flood situation has worsened due to heavy rains and erosion from the height and breaking of dams. New areas flooded. Three other flood control dams were broken on Monday after the Ghatghat and Brahmaputra water broke out. Six villages and roads in those areas have been submerged in fresh water. As a result, more than two and a half million people of 23 unions of Gaibandha Sadar, Sundarganj, Saghata and Phulchari Upazilas have been waterlogged.
