First, we select the terrain. The selected objects appear in the table. If you want to remove objects from the selection, you can do so by selecting the objects in the table, or by selecting them directly in AutoCAD.
To relate the objects in the table with them in AutoCAD, you can make a selection of objects in the table and highlight them in AutoCAD.
Next, we select the axis. You can define the axis by consecutive points. Alternatively, you can define the axis by an object. The axis by points cannot have curved sections, but the axis by objects can have curved sections.
When the terrain and the axis are defined, press the Compute Longitudinal Profile button. The table then show all calculated measurements. If you press the Draw Auxiliary View button, the software will draw the section just on the terrain, but only for straight sections of the axis.
By pressing the Draw 2D Profile button, the software will prompt for a point to draw the section on the AutoCAD screen. This profile includes all sections of the axis, both straight and curved. The table -with all the data of the section- is also drawn under the profile.
By pressing the Table Fields button, you can choose which fields will appear on the data table under the section profile.
All data obtained can be exported to an Excel sheet by pressing the corresponding button.
If you check the Compute Profile by Intervals box, the software gets data at equal separated intervals. In this case, we have input an interval of 15 meters. This type of profile is presented in a separate table, and can be drawn just on the terrain, exported or drawn on AutoCAD screen.
In the Settings tab, you can choose, among other things, the drawing scales for the profiles.
The demo version of Inner Soft CAD allows to freely using the calculation and auxiliary views of the sections. To draw 2D profiles or to export them, you have to buy the full version. With the full version you can also save the files with the terrain and axes data to work with them in different working sessions.
