Analysis: What do Indians think of removal of Kashmir's special status? Despite criticism and protests against India's removal of Kashmir's autonomy, a large part of the opposition is siding with the government as is the public, reports Al Jazeera's correspondent Faiz Jamil from New Delhi.

There seems to be broad consensus among political parties and sectors of the public that doing away with the special status of Kashmir and other regions is a positive step, he adds. It is widely expected that there will be legal challenges as soon as the bill is passed.

Kamal Hyder, reporting live from Pakistan-administered Kashmir, says many people in Pakistan are concerned about their relatives in the valley as the heavy presence of Indian military may lead to more “bloodshed and violence”.
