US military commanders watching new virus closely (25 Feb 2020) Senate Armed Services Committee heard testimony from U.S. European Command Commander/NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Tod Wolters saying "In Europe political uncertainty, energy competition and diffusion technology are stressing the established Western order."

Wolters said, "Threats and challenges, most notably Russia, Iran, and China seek to take advantage of these conditions through aggressive action using all instruments of national power and are backed by increasingly capable military forces."

Gen. Stephen R. Lyons, Commander of the U.S Transportation Command responding to questions concerning how the military is protecting servicemen and women from the coronavirus said, "we're watching this very, very closely for any implications on global mobility."

"We're not taking particular health protection measures inside the command other than to protect the force."
