Some of Azmin Ali's supporters within PKR have expressed remorse because they did not know of his plans, said party president Anwar Ibrahim. "They were not privy on some of the backdoor deals undertaken by some (then) leaders of the party. They themselves felt betrayed.
"I have cautioned them some time back. This has been brewing for months... (Azmin's) followers are innocent.
"Nobody told them that there is this conspiracy to topple the government (to form) a backdoor government," he told reporters at his party headquarters.
It has been an emotional afternoon at PKR's headquarters where supporters have been converging following the swearing-in of Muhyiddin Yassin as the new prime minister.
