| A wonderful winter afternoon in the vibrant Sonajhuri forest of Birbhum, West Bengal, India| This unedited video was captured on A Sunday afternoon in the Khooayi region (Sonajhuri forest) of Birbhum. Khooayi generally refers to the nature of the erodible top soil here, which is visible all around. With the clear blue skies, the tall slender forests and the wonderful and charming December weather, the place is a must visit for any nature lover during winter. The icing on the cake was the Sunday market (or Haat as we call it in Bengali), when the locals assemble to transact business and there are musical performances by Baul singers and by tribal men and women.

Tribal Dance
The women danced along the rhythmic beat of the drums and chimes played by their male counterparts. Their grand stage for performance being the Sonajhuri forest itself and their audience the people who had gathered at the weekly Haat ( read Market). The coordinated steps, the colourful dresses, the backdrop of the forest with its tall dense trees, the moorum soil and the clear winter skies, all conspired to create magic.
