The Un Civil War Political Rhetoric and Why Ideology Trumps Facts 04.04.2018

The Un Civil War Political Rhetoric and Why Ideology Trumps Facts 04.04.2018 This conference aimed to advance a bipartisan conversation about civil discourse in modern American politics, with the ultimate goal of challenging attendees to think differently about their own entrenched beliefs and opinions and to open a conversation about shared values in American culture and the civil ways in which we can agree to disagree. The conference also explored the role of identity and neurobiology in shaping political beliefs, and how these factors impact our ability to think critically and engage in civil discourse with those with whom we disagree.

We brought together thought leaders, experts, and academics from a variety of sectors including political actors, pollsters, cognitive scientists, sociologists, technology experts, journalists and media representatives. (Part 2 of 4)
