I woke up on Christmas Day to this video on Facebook! She needed a MIRACLE, rescue was HER only option she was in a small rural shelter in south Texas that is NOT open to the public.
The post read the following 💔
( Young short female terrified😔 15ish lbs shakes and cries if you touch her, she was taken away from owner on an animal cruelty charge. Neighbors reported owner would beat her with a bealt😔)
She had to stay in the shelter for 30 days alone with no human touch petrified in the corner of her kennel. There is no staff at the shelter, it is a small set of kennels and just the ACO’s. The volunteer that networksthe dogs put out a plea for help and I could not get this image of her out of my head the video played over and over. I just kept seeing the helplessness, the fear, she has not faith in humanity, she was failed by her humans. Well NOT any MORE I immediately messaged her and said we will take her she will NOT suffer another day in her life! She deserves a SECOND CHANCE ‼️
She is what our rescue stands up for, we will always stand up for the last resort dogs, the one that is easily over looked, and will take a lot of time to heal and learn love and patience to REHAB! She will not be easy, she will take work and time but with all of that she will come to learn love and trust of humans. ❤️
She pees with touch of a hand, she shakes in fear and in the presence on humans, this is where we come in we will show her GRACE, LOVE and PATIENCE she will learn that humans are not ALL bad!
She has been rescued and she arrived yesterday in Dallas- she is decompressing at our contracted boarding facility. She will be with a few of our trusting scared dogs, she will be assessed by our trainer and a plan will be put in place for her REHAB PROCESS.
She will need a foster who has a place for her to decompress, that is patience and that can take the to spend some time with her and teach her that human touch will NOT HURT! That HUMANS can be good they will NOT always HURT!
She was beat repeatedly over and over with a belt tied to a tree outside! We named her GIA it of Italian origin meaning "God's gracious gift". .. that is what she is God GRACIOUS Gift 💝.
