Before getting into further details on the BrahMos missile tests, lets quickly see few facts about the missile
The BrahMos is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarine, ships, aircraft, or land. It is the fastest supersonic cruise missile in the world.
It is a joint venture between the Russian Federation's NPO and India's DRDO who together have formed BrahMos Aerospace.
The name BrahMos is formed from the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.
It is the world's fastest anti-ship cruise missile in operation.

We know that India successfully test-fired two BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles one from land and another from air platforms to check its capability to hit targets with precision and accuracy.

The Land-attack BrahMos variant was fired from a mobile launcher Launch Pad-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at a base off the coast of Odisha by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The target set for this missile test was a ship.

The Air version of BrahMos was launched by the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Sukhoi-30MKI and it also successfully hit a target in the sea. During the test, the missile was gravity dropped from the air combat platform's fuselage and the two-stage weapons engine fired up and the missile straightway propelled towards the intended target positioned at the sea, piercing it with "pinpoint" accuracy.

The BrahMos missile provides Indian Air Force with a much-desired capability to strike from large stand-off ranges on any target at sea or on land with pinpoint accuracy and the same can be carried out during both day or night and in all weather conditions.

India and Russia intend to make 2,000 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles over the next ten years through their joint venture company, and nearly 50% of them are expected to be exported to friendly countries.

Several countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, Egypt, Oman, Indonesia have expressed interest in the missile and even Malaysia is also reported to be considering the purchase of the missile for use on its Kedah class warships and fighter jets. On 8 October 2019, the Philippines was announced to be the first export customer of the BrahMos missile system.
