The eye tearing rates of onion in market are said to have lowered, where market onions are at ₹140/kg and Horticulture outlets sell them at ₹80/kg. Though, the rates differ on a huge margin the quality also differs. The onions available at Horticulture are said to be wet and have to be chosen individually, whereas the expensive onion in market are dry and of good quality. Though, Horticulture provides subsidized onion, the quality is said to be compromised.
