A consumer is taking her insurer to task in the State Farm class action lawsuit over an allegedly improper service fee assessed to customers who request paper billing statements. According to the plaintiff, New York resident Melissa Santoro, State Farm also charges the fee when customers pay using mail. Santoro contends that such fees violate New York state law. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this with Scott Hardy, President of Top Class Actions.
