Be Eager for God | Daily Devotional for Today

Be Eager for God | Daily Devotional for Today The Apostle Paul exemplified what it looks like to be eager for God - to spread His Word and live a life worthy of pursuing.

Thank you for checking out Walk With Jesus Daily - a channel that's created to bring you daily inspiration and motivation devotionals.

Today's message is based on this scripture:

“I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes...”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:14-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I am always so impressed by men and women like the Apostle Paul - who preached in the face of opposition, knowing he could be killed for doing so. Paul says he was eager to preach in Rome... in other words, eager to possibly die for sharing the name Jesus. Paul had a huge responsibility to share with so many people. If he hadn’t of done this, who knows what Christianity would look like today. It is the most widespread faith, but it’s seeing a decline in participation (this generation, is the most unchurched generation in US history). So like Paul, it’s on us to share God’s Word by our lips and by our actions. The biggest difference between us and Paul is we probably won’t be persecuted like Paul was - at least most of us won’t be, some will be though. There are people who are being suppressed at this moment because of their faith - I’ve collaborated with an organization called Hardwired who helps these people. I’ve been fortunate to create videos that help generate support for the organization and the people who are being targeted and executed for their faith. Again, while most of us won’t face that kind of persecution, we should approach our faith like we will be persecuted like that. With such dependency on who God is. Think about how differently you’d approach your relationship with God if you knew you could arrested and or killed for believing in Jesus. I know it’s hard to comprehend, which makes it easy to get complacent with our faith. Today’s scripture is just a reminder to be eager to read God’s Word and to be ready share it with anyone and everyone.
