With over 17,000 members, Al Oerter Recreation Center has been serving the Flushing, Queens community since 2008. Rodolfo Guevara has been with NYC Parks for 6 years and is a cherished member of the community. After suffering from a gunshot wound that left him with a spinal cord injury, Rodolfo became involved in various wheelchair sports. He now teaches classes for people with limited mobility and pushes everyone at the center to keep going, no matter their circumstance.
