Testing Series II: It's time... to MAGNIFY!

Testing Series II: It's time... to MAGNIFY! As I was doing the general code overhaul last month, I also took advantage of the re-write to make some things that were previously hard-coded more modular. The main one being map-size. The previous versions were all hard-coded for 360x180 maps, but the new versions can theoretically accept maps of any size!

So for this instance of the testing series, the sim was run on a 720x360 version of the familiar 'standard' map from before.

As you might expect, the 4x increase in the number of tiles meant that running the simulation took a lot longer. In addition, I ran into some bugs with integer overflow that forced me to restart several times. Hence why this video took a while.

But, I hope it was worth the wait! I feel the bigger map definitely helps give more of a sense that these are world maps, and how big the areas represented are supposed to be.

The next couple of simulations will probably go back to the smaller map, though. Since for testing purposes it's of course not very convenient if the simulation takes 4x as much time to simulate the same amount of years.
