Layout Update - November 2019: Station Platform Painting, Foundations, Tree Making Side Effect...

Hey everybody, here's what we've been up to this past month on the layout.

- Painted the Banff Station platform. Used a flat black spray can then a light spray with the airbrush. Masked the edges to simulate a 6" concrete curb.

- Created 2 additional "concrete foundations" using scrap MDF and grey primer paint. These will be for the Banff Ice House and small maintenance of way auxiliary buildings that were there in the 2010 era that I am modelling.

- Tree making continues at a slow and steady pace. With all production going into the far corner of staging. I found that a side effect of tree making results in a type of grass mat being formed on horizontal section of the airbrush booth. Rather than throw out that scenery material, I scrap them up with a drywall trowel for use as ground cover in the forested areas.

- Picked up some ballast finally. I will be using Scenery Express #50 light grey and blended ballast for the entire layout.
