How to find Fire Morel mushrooms all depends on where the wild fires were located the summer prior to the spring season that you want to go out and find them. They start popping out of the ground surprisingly early when the snow is gone and the sun warms the ground. By April and for sure May you will usually be able to find Morel Mushrooms on the lower elevation burns. As time progresses you will find morels at higher elevations through out the summer. This is a great way to harvest morels and a lot of fun. Quite dirty and quite a few mosquitoes sometimes, but lots of mushrooms to be found on some burns. You may want to try next spring. Start your research now and find out where those fires were.
