In this video, I'm going to give you five tips to memorize the five pentatonic positions.
1. Use visual reference points. Those will be the root notes on the sixth and fifth strings.
2. See your positions as slices of the fretboard. Create alternate routes that go from one position to the next.
3. Sing what you are playing. Your fingers have a memory on their own and they will respond to the command of your mind when you sing.
4. Force yourself to play in a position you are not used to. Use a backing track to make it more musical and fun while you become comfortable with the position.
5. Picture the positions in your mind. Before grabbing your guitar, visualize the position you want to play. Pay attention to details like which area of the fretboard you are going to use and how the position looks on the fretboard.
