As a significant winter storm impacted regions to the northwest, a damaging wind and flooding event took place along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Damaging winds in excess of 60MPH battered the shoreline, knocking down trees and power lines. The winds generated waves up to at least 16 feet. These waves caused significant beach erosion, along with property damage. Flooding of some roads also occurred from high water levels. This was one of the worst storms this year in a very damaging fall season in Michigan.
