Video involves the demonstration of medication reconstitution and administration of the medication using CIVA pump. A few corrections:
1. I should've gently rotated the syringe of sterile water and medication-sterile water composition, to ensure that the contents are properly mixed.
2. I made a mistake of wiping off the excess water droplets off the outside portion of the protective cap of the needle; on the patient's bed sheet (excess water droplets were there because of my first recording demo). I made sure that the needle itself stayed sterile, but for safety precautions I would not do that in real life, and I would've set it right by cleaning the external portion of the cap with alcohol swab for 30 secs and dry for 15 secs.
3. I would ensure that the post flush is being infused at the same rate/time as the medication prior.
4. When I verbalized that I was doing a safety check/looking at the IV tubing and saying "it's infusing well and there are no occlusions", I should've been more specific on what exactly I'm checking for. I would say, "I'm looking at the floor for any tripping hazards, such as a lose call bell" and/or "I'm going to ensure the Baxter pump is infusing at the proper flow rate."
