Both were Artilleryman like myself so we speak the same "language" but this didn't strike me as strange because the Army deployed so many Artillery Divisions (Divarty) and Battalions to 'Nam I'm surprised the entire country didn't sink a few feet. One of the men started out as a Mortar man and his Brigade "repurposed" him and put him at a firebase. I have Polaroid's from a couple of firebase's that my Dad was on including the infamous Firebase Ripcord in the A Shau Valley. The stories Dad and Uncle Jacob told me. These are the meetings of strangers that I like.
