Tutorial: Adjusting thread tension for sewing, quilting and embroidery

How to adjust thread tension on a sewing machine? Having a balanced thread tension is a must. It ensures that the seam is durable and looks good on both the top and the underside of the material. For sewing, the interlacing of the upper thread and the bobbin thread is situated between fabric layers. When embroidering, the bobbin thread should generally not be visible on the top side of the fabric. Instead, the upper thread should be lightly pulled under in order to ensure a beautiful stitch on the top side of the fabric.
