Here's Why the 3rd Gen NC Mazda MX-5 Is The Least Loved Miata, and Why It Shouldn't Be

Here's Why the 3rd Gen NC Mazda MX-5 Is The Least Loved Miata, and Why It Shouldn't Be The NC is considered by Miata purists, incorrectly I think, to be outside the spirit of the original and beloved NA and NB cars. They say it's too heavy, too big, and too tall to be a true Miata. In fact, this car weighs less than 100 lbs. more than an NB, and has the same power to weight ratio as a 2005 Mazdaspeed Turbo NB. It handles well, brakes well, and remains an absolute blast to drive.

Give the NC a chance. Prices have come down since the release of the ND, and in terms of bang for the buck, it's tough to find a better sports car.
