Tonight we are going to test over 16 metallic colored pencils, including: Prismacolor, Polychromos, Crayola, ColorIt, Derwent & more! Which brand do you think will reign supreme in this head-to-head battle? ;) Post Event Update...
Wow, that was a lot of work, but fun! The results were surprising. In the end, we discovered that the Crayola Metallic and the Faber-Castell Metallic EcoPencils appear to be the same pencils. We also found that they were two of our top picks! Not bad for student grade tools. Plus, they come in at only about 58 cents US per pencil.
The other surprising result came from the Spectrum Noir Metallic colored pencils. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft these pencils are, and the colors are beautiful! And for the price at around $1 per pencil US they are also a good deal.
So in the end, my two recommendations are the Faber-Castell EcoPencils and the Spectrum Noirs. Here are a couple of links to them on Amazon if you're interested...
