NYC VLOG | FILMING A COMMERCIAL!

As I edit this video I'm feeling so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way as a result of this channel. I'm so thankful to ALL OF YOU who watch my videos, comment, and support my content here. It's been such a great experience to work with a big company like JCPenney and to get a glimpse into a world so different than mine. It was such a dream come true to visit New York City this way!

I am also on a journey to consume less in general, and to support fair trade brands when there is something that I need. A few years ago, I had never even heard of this concept, but I'm so glad to see that these values are gaining traction with more and more people. We live in a world where, for various reasons--economic, access, availability, sizing, etc--we can't always buy from the exact retailer that we'd prefer. There are a lot of affordability and inclusivity issues that many fair trade/sustainable brands are grappling with, and that is great to see. More of us are starting to understand the environmental impact of our fashion habits, and I think that is also a crucial part of conversations about responsible fashion. There are many, many issues to consider, and I hope that at some point, this channel has given you some useful information or resources.

I'm honored that I had the opportunity to extend my influence this summer, and to learn much more about the industry. I don't have a background in fashion or design--I just love experimenting with my personal style and talking about clothes. I also love to support the underdog, the up-and-comer, so you'll see fair trade/ethical/sustainable/organic brands on this channel as often as possible. My purchases are not 100% fair trade, but I'm trying to be much more conscious in my consumerism, and I'm continuing to learn about this industry.
