there are places on site where you want to highlight, wall with undulation, plywood tabel top with tile of stone finish. where we have to fix tile or stone on to plywood. fixing with resin based adhesive and silicon cause failure of fixing tile over ply wood, cement sheet and other boards.
for fixing tile over plywood you need an adhesive which can boand over plywood surface and is flexible so that the tile will neither crack nor loose Bond
correct system for fixing tile on plywood will be; you should use waterproof ply wood of 16mm thickness. plywood should be nailed every 2 feet to reduce movement. undulation of the surface should not exceed 2mm.
for fixing 1 feet by 1 feet tile you may use D2TE Adhesive on areas where there will not be contact with water.
for all othere application of bigger tile and stone use R2T category adhesive.
do not use tile or stone bigger than 3 feet.
give joints on every joints of minimum 3mm and fill it with appropriate cement or epoxy grout to fill joints.
for fixing tile size 1 feet by 1 feet and dry area you may use Elastic Eco or equivalent for other tile and italian stone big size you may use Superflex or equivalent
for filling joints with cement grout you may sure fugabella 0-5 or equivalent, for epoxy grout you may use Fugalite or equivalent.
