Here is the link to the Webinar:
Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich starts out with the principle - er - requirement, of DESIRE.
Do you have the desire to succeed?
But first, you have to have an idea you want to succeed at. And that is where we'll begin…
Napoleon Hill said, and this has since been supported by countless examples from successful people, that you have to have an idea in order to get started. Simple enough, right.
But he also said, and this is where it gets interesting… If you have an idea, you HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SUCCEED IN REACHING THAT DESIRED GOAL.
Your brain is INCAPABLE of having a thought or idea that it cannot reach or get to. If you decide that you want to run a marathon, you can run the marathon, given that you put the time and effort in. If you want to succeed in business, you will succeed if you put the time and effort in to that goal.
Hill also wrote that you have to create goals for yourself. But not like New Year's Resolution-type goals.
Really awesome goals. (He didn't say it as eloquently as I did ;).
Here's what you have to do. We'll use the example of money for the purposes of this post:
Decide on and write down the specific amount of money you desire.
Write down exactly when you want to have the money in your possession.
Write down exactly what you are going to do to get to your desired goal.
Begin to work deliberately toward your goal.
There is a specific purpose for writing your goals down. When you write, your brain carries the information in a different way. The information you write becomes more important to your brain and can therefore work with your subconscious mind to help you succeed.
I write my goals down every day. I also keep a copy of them laminated, and I keep those cards in my shirt pocket. If you always have them with you, you can always touch them, in a sense.
I look forward to talking about Principle #2 tomorrow: Faith and Belief.
