Jesus explained to Nicodemus that we must be born again and repent to have salvation leading up to the full conversation we all know well...
John 3:16..
If you believe there is a place called heaven, as the bible reveals, and you want to be there, there is one way to get there. Jesus gave His life, so that yours could be saved, because He loves you. You can ask Him to forgive you so that you be sure when you die, you will have nothing to fear.
Pray this prayer sincerely to know your saved. (Note: it isn't about saying these exact words, this isn't a formula).
Father, I come to you and believe Jesus came to earth. I believe He died on the Cross for the sins of all mankind. I believe He rose again on the 3rd day and shortly after returned to Heaven to prepare a place for Your Children to live with You forever. (John 14:6) I ask You to forgive me of my sins. Clean my heart, white as snow. (Isaiah 1:18) Come live in my heart, by The Holy Spirit, that I can be a child of the King. (John 3:3) A new creature in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17) I ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus.
If you have done this here is how to grow in your walk with The God who loves you.
1) Get a Bible and read it daily, I would suggest beginning with the gospel of John, since that gospel shows who Jesus is, as God among us. It will feed your spirit and soul, in the same way you feed your body with food and water.
2) Pray to The Father in by the access Jesus gave you to come to His Father. (John 14:6) He is The One who loves you and calls you friend. (John 15:14-15)
3)Ask God to fill you with The Holy Spirit, as He assists us in our growth as believers, what the bible calls "sanctification" meaning "set apart" from what we were. This happens as we pray, reading our bibles, and be around other believers who believe as we do.
4) Take your Bible to church, be sure what is spoken matches your Bible, if not, pray God will direct you to a church where what is taught is true throughout all of the bible and not a verse here or there.
5) Ask God to surround you with people whom you can trust who have been walking with The Lord for a while and know how to come alongside you to help you.
**VERY IMPORTANT** Make SURE you REPENT of EVERY SIN you do now, ask Jesus to forgive you with an honest heart and He will.
