Major tournaments are often a scouting hot bed for Premier League clubs - and this year's Africa Cup of Nations is no different. A host of big names were analysed by transfer boffins from top flight clubs and some key names could make the move to England this summer as a result. International tournament have proven to be the perfect showcase for players to earn themselves a big move. This year's AFCON saw Algeria come out on top and lift the trophy, but in the rounds previous, a host of other players shone. We asked our African football expert, Rahman Osman, to profile four of the standout stars of the past few weeks... Adam Ounas Club: Napoli, Italy The Algerian winger has been a revelation at this tournament. His glittering pace on either side of the wings makes him a perfect fit for the English game. He has goals in the competition despite not being a starter for the Carthage Eagles. Only Nigeria and former Watford forward Odion Ighalo scored more. At 22, and with a vast of experience playing in a huge tournament like the Africa Cup of Nations, he could do a decent job for a mid-table English Premier League side. Samuel Chukwueze Club: Villarreal, Spain The left footed Nigeria attacker is everything football pundits thought Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho would develop into. He has got pace, agility and can score goals in the penalty box. The Villarreal winger’s ingenuity down the right wing will come in handy for loads of Premier League clubs in search of a left footed inverted forward. Being a Nigerian, settling in the English game will not be a big headache as players from the West African country have good records in the English Premier League. Everton and Leicester City have been monitoring for a while and it’s fair to say it won’t be long before someone makes his move. Ismael Bennacer Club: Empoli, Italy The Empoli creative midfielder would be a massive steal for a club in need of a regista or a controller in midfield.
